It has been a SUPER long time since I put up a post on here!  Oh My Goodness, life has been so busy!  There are lots of cool projects that I have been working on for the past several months.  I am going to start catching up on the very latest project that I  created for a very good friend of mine.  My friend was celebrating her 60th birthday with a Mad Hatter tea party!  What great fun!  I had the supremely awesome pleasure to make her birthday cake for her.  I wanted it to be very special for her and of course, it had to match her theme!  Below is a picture of her Mad Hatter tea party cake!
And, here is a picture of Vicki and myself behind the creation. I am the one wearing the chef hat (Hats were required at this party!)
This project was so much fun (plus a lot of work)! But, Vicki is one of the most special women I have ever met in my lifetime and it brought me great joy to bring this special cake to a special lady.

Hope you like the pictures and the cake.  Stay tuned to more updates as I have a lot of catching up to do!

Blessings to you all!
Miss Mary

A New Love...

Wilton Method Cake Decorating!!!  I have taken my love of scrapbooking to a new level.  It is amazing how much paper crafting, stamping, and scrapbooking can transfer over to cake decorating.  Really, they are a lot alike.  Designing a cake is so much similar to designing a card or scrapbook layout!  I enjoy this form of "edible art" so much that I have become a Wilton Method Instructor!

Saturday May 19th, the Michaels store in Lacey, WA is having an Open House from 1pm to 3pm.  We will be doing a cake demonstration during this time.  Anyone who registers for a cake decorating class will receive 50% off the cost of registration!  What a great deal!  But wait, there is more!  In addition to receiving the discount off your registration, you will also receive 50% off your class kit!

I am super excited about this promotion from Wilton and Michaels.  What a great way to make new friends and learn a new skill!  I can't even tell you how much money I have spent on buying the "factory line" cakes at the grocery store over the years.  Now, I save a ton of money and make my own!  Plus, the cakes I design for my friends and family are unique and fresh!  Those store bought cakes are frozen and probably weeks old!

Come learn how to design and decorate your own cakes!  Plus I will instruct you on how to bake the perfect cake, it is much easier than you think!

Hope to see you on Saturday!

Sister Card

My two sisters and I have what we call "Sister Trips".  Only the three of us are allowed to go, no husbands, no kids, and no grandkids.  We try to make these trips at least once a year, even if it is only for a weekend.

A few weekends ago we decided to meet in Portland, Oregon (half way for all of us), so we could all go see the new movie "One For The Money".  This movie is based on the books by Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series.  We all read all the books so we decided that we HAD to see the movie together.

When I got home, I created this card as a thank you to my sisters for the great trip and always for being my best friends ever!  Hope you like the card.
On a side note, I also screen printed matching shirts for us all to wear to the movie. See below!
Hope you enjoy the pictures of my crazy, beautiful, wonderful sisters and me!

Valentine's Day Card....

My son, Kaleb, really wanted to make his girlfriend a Valentine's Day card this year.  So, I helped him design a card and told him how to put it together.  The following series of pictures depict his journey in developing the lovely card that he made for his Valentine.

And here is her reaction to the beautiful card that he took so much time to create for her...

Super Hero ATC

I made this card for an ATC (Artist Trading Card) swap.  I happen to L-O-V-E the new Super Hero paper pack!

From new born to high school grad...

This is my son Kaleb from when he was first born to 4th grade then graduating from high school.  He is and always has been such a joy in my life, as all 6 of my children and 3 grandchildren are!  This layout was created with the Victory Workshop on the Go from CTMH.  If you would like to create your own send me a message!

My son, my hero!!

This layout was made by using the new Super Hero Workshop On The Go. I decided to use the pictures of my son, David. In these pictures he was stationed in the Congo.  He is a Marine Embassy guard.  This was his Halloween costume for 2010.  I am absolutely in love with how this layout turned out.  He loves it too.

Sorry about the picture quality.  No matter what I did, I couldn't get that glare off of there.

Pemberley WOTG

Well, I had a couple of days of good production.  I completed four two-page layouts during the snow storm and before we lost power.  We have been without power for three days now so I finally broke down and took the grand kids to a hotel where there is power and an indoor pool!  They are happy campers and I am wishing I would have brought my scrapping supplies with me!

Here is a picture of the last Workshop on the Go I was able to complete before we lost power.
This is from the Pemberly Workshop On The Go.  The instructions for the layout were for a sister, but since I hadn't scrap booked my daughter's Naval Junior ROTC Ball pictures I decided to go with that.  Although she has been to many high school formals, this was her first Naval Ball.  Here she is pictured with her date and her cousin, Matt.  I love how this layout turned out.  The pictures really show her personality of being the fun loving jokester.  She had a wonderful time at the ball and now that memory is captured forever here.

I am hoping that our power comes on soon so I can get back home and work on some more layouts!

What a productive day!

I guess there is something good about having so much snow!  I have been creating since about 9:00 this morning.  I have been able to finish two 2-page layouts using new paper from CTMH that will be available February 1st in the Spring/Summer Idea Book.

This first layout is made with the Footloose Workshop On The Go.  I used pictures from my daughter's trip to Montana last summer.
The second layout is made using the new Cruisin' Workshop On The Go. Again the pictures are from my daugher's family vacation last summer to Montana.
Of course, now she is begging me to let her have both of these layouts!  I say "Make your own! It is easy!"  Get your own Workshop On The Go on February 1st!

Two new cards!

I feel so accomplished today! I was actually able to complete two cards today that we will be making at our card club next week.  This first card was inspired by sister CTMH Consultant, Maureen O'Sullivan.  I just love how it turned out.  I used Elemental paper pack, AP cartridge, Desert Sand, and Pacifica Inks.

The second card I found in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book.  You can also find the pattern in the Wishes Card Confidence how-to book on page 81.  I used Cocoa card stock as the base and Sonoma paper pack.  I stamped the image in Cocoa ink and the sentiment in Smokey Plum ink.  The two hearts are stamped in Smokey Plum and Petal.
Sorry that the picture is so dark, I didn't realize how dark the room had gotten!  But, I think you get the main idea.

Christmas Layout

I know that it has been a long time since I updated my blog.  My New Year's resolution is to be more diligent when it comes to keeping up on here.  So here is my first post of the new year!

I used wonderland paper pack from CTMH and the Reflections how-to book also from CTMH.  The left side of the layout is called Title Topper-- Pieced Together on page 16 and the right side is called Sidebar--Original on page 40, but I rotated the layout a quarter turn clock-wise.  The "Family" letter was cut out on White Daisy cardstock on the Cricut using the Winter Wonderland cartridge.  "Christmas" was cut out using the "Phrases" cartridge.  Shadow fonts were cut out in Chocolate cardstock.

The family had a great time together and everyone was very happy!  I am glad that the new year has started and I am setting some specific goals.  I will keep you posted on those as the days go by.

Thanks for looking!
